DIY Cold Remedies😥😷

Do-It-Yourself Home Cold Remedies
Brought to you by: Cold-EEZE Cold Remedy
  1. Stuffy nose? Use steam for relief.
You don’t need a fancy humidifier to ease congestion. Slowly breathing in steam from a pot of boiling water can work wonders! Just make sure to be very careful — you don’t want to burn your nose!
  2. Make it spicy.
Incorporate lots of cinnamon, nutmeg, rosemary, cloves, pepper and ginger into your sick-day diet. Spices are natural cures to help boost your immune system and fight off viruses and diseases. Some other ingredients to include? Garlic, honey and coconut oil. Check out some more natural cold symptom relievers by visiting us on Pinterest.
  3. Try chicken noodle soup.
A nice hot bowl of chicken noodle soup (Make sure to include vegetables!) might be just what you need to fight off that virus. It’s the ultimate cure-all and medically backed to help ease cold symptoms. Check out some of our Cold-EEZE Cold Remedy-approved tasty recipes by clicking here!
  4. Make your own nasal spray.
By simply mixing 3 teaspoons of iodide-free salt and 1 teaspoon of baking soda and then adding 1 teaspoon of the mixture to 8 ounces of warm boiled water, you can create your own nasal spray solution! It takes a matter of minutes. And then all you have to do is fill a bulb syringe and gently squirt the mixture into each of your nostrils (while holding the other one closed) and letting them drain. This will help clear nasal congestion as well as remove virus particles and bacteria!
  5. And of course, drink plenty of fluids.
It’s so important to stay hydrated, especially when you’re sick. By drinking plenty of fluids regularly, you can help break up congestion and ease a sore throat. Some great options include water, herbal teas, juices and ginger ale! Be sure to check out some of our favorite healthy hydration recipes!

3 DIY Summer Foot Scrubs #Summer #DIY

DIY Foot scrub

Can you believe the summer heat this year? It has been overwhelmingly humid here, and the flip flops and sandals have long been brought out. Perfect for holing up at the beach. Flaunting those toes now are we? Summer can also bring sweaty feet, so here are some foot scrubs that will help you kick the heat.

clip_image001

What about this Snow cone sugar scrub? What about this doesn’t speak summer to you? Reminds me of chasing the Ice Cream truck down the street when I was a kid. I love the frosty icy look that this scrub gives off. I also love how it looks layered just like a snow cone! Looks good enough to eat, doesn’t it?

Coconut is very moisturizing especially for the feet. (You can even add a dab of pure coconut on the cuticles of your toes!) Not only will it help soothen the rough edges that come naturally in the summer, but it helps prevent athletes foot.

Give your feet the nourishment it needs with this amazing Homemade Coconut Oil Foot Scrub

image

The Coffee & Banana Foot Scrub doesn’t require very much at all. Coffee grounds, olive oil, kosher salt, and a 1/2 a banana. The banana naturally nourishes and moisturizes the feet while the coffee grounds make an exfoliation to get all that dead/dry skin off.

Looking for something that not only makes you feet look amazing but your bathroom too? This easy sugar scrub flowers looks amazing and isn’t very hard to make! You get to choose which colorant you put it in, so just think of the beautiful possibilities. Just think.. these would make amazing gift basket inserts!

11 Back-to-School Headbands & Hair Clips #DIY #Headbands

hairclips

School is almost here and Adisyn could really use some headbands and clips. I was searching through Pinterest and seen some very VERY cute headbands. You can always go out and buy them, but making them by hand adds something special to the meaning for me!

Keeping her hair out of her face while she learns and plays at school never looked so good. I am loving the options of headbands, bows, and clips that are available. What reason is there to NOT make some of this goodness? Open-mouthed smile

The first headband I came across was the Heart Headwrap  is just so adorable. It’s simple yet so beautiful. Easy to make and a very quick project. You could make this in every color and clip on little bows. How cute!

image

The second headband is the thread headband. I love that this is also easy. The pattern is easy to follow and has step-by-step instructions on how to make it. I love that they also have the pattern for the flower. It’s a great way to contrast color and make it unique.

image

The third headband is very easy to make, yet very pretty. The Button Flower Headband doesn’t a ton of time to make (so you have time to make more..shh..lol) Great way to add some splashes of color to their outfits! Any color combination you want, right here!

image

If you are looking for a very versatile headband that isn’t very hard to make, the Double Sided Headband would be great.

 image

I am loving all the bright colored fabric, absolutely beautiful. You can also create patchwork pieced headbands out of this pattern. It does require using a sewing machine, so if you don’t have one—you might skip ahead.

I am all for repurposed t-shirts, especially with this 5 strand braided headband. What better way to get ALL the use out of them that you can. Especially if there is a tiny stain or rip that you can’t fix. These are also perfect because they are stretchy and very comfortable to wear. Also the fact that you can clip on any color hair bow to the top and make it unique. Switch it up~!

image

If you’re looking for something easy and quick, you should definitely give this 3 minute headband a try. All you really need is a headband and some felt. You could probably use some spray starch and use fabric instead of felt to make it even cuter.

image

The DIY headband below can be made for anybody, not just babies. She shows you how to measure the length, depending on who you are making it for. This would be cute in a variety of colors as well. Great for sending her back to school in style.

image

The Sugar Bee Website has an amazing knotted t-shit headband . It’s very easy and the sewing that is done, can be done by hand if you don’t have a sewing machine. It would be stronger of a hold if you had a machine to use, though.

image

For another easy, cheap, and quick headband there’s the braided bead headband. You don’t necessarily have to use the materials that are required in this. Just choose 3 different texture of materials and wrap them together. Looks pretty cool!

image

These DIY Flower Hair Bows below are SUPER cheap. Less than $.50 a piece and can be clipped on or hot-glued to any hairband! I love the added button too~ ! Mix it up with contrasting colors, or add buttons that have designs on them!

image

No little girls hair collection is complete without the all famous diy chanel inspired bow. I love the deep chocolate mixed with the gold, but you can add any color combination to make this a stand-out!

image

AND.. you can’t have all those pretty bows and headbands without having something to put on them, now can ya? I seen this DIY HeadBand Holder that is just simply beautiful! Also adds a little flair. You could definitely use whatever fabric matches your bathroom or her bedroom. Heck, while you’re at it, you could whip yourself one up too!

Hope you find something you like!

DIY Hair Masks Your Hair Desperately Needs

hair masks

There is absolutely nothing better than getting to sit back, relax, and getting a professional facial. It feels absolutely amazing, but can be VERY expensive. Why spend all that money on getting someone else to give you a facial when you can get the same results at home and it cost you 25% of what you’d be paying for a professional one? F.Y.I you can even do it in your pajamas (2 thumbs up)

You can definitely maintain healthy skin at home; you just have to know what your skin type is. There are four skin types which include normal, dry, oily, and sensitive. You’ll want to stick to the facial masks that are made for your skin type. You definitely don’t want to use a dry skin face mask if you have oily skin. It will add more hydration and oil to your skin, which can lead to blackheads and breakouts.

I put the masks into sections (by skin type) so that it helps.

Normal Skin

(Not too dry, yet not too oily with little to no blemishes or problems)

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt

Take your 2 eggs and separate the whites from the yolks. Place them in different bowls. Take the bowl with the egg whites in it and mix in your 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt. Apply this mixture to your face and leave it until it dries (maybe 4-5 minutes).

Rinse off (by hand) in warm water. Follow with patting with a washcloth that has been dipped in warm water. Your face should feel moisturized yet cleansed.

My Review
imageimage
Black Lace. Summer Citrus. Hot Pink Zebra. For most women, having cute nails is an absolute must. We’ve all seen the amazing pinterest posts showing pictures of those really awesome nail designs but didn’t know how to do it.
image
I wasn’t sure exactly HOW to even begin with doing something extravagant to my nails (even though I’m crafty).. so I was really excited to get this book. Once you break it down it isn’t quite so hard to figure it out!
image
I love that this book has step-by-step instructions with colored pictures to go along with it. This makes it easy to KNOW what to do without having to second guess yourself (like I do if a book doesn’t have colored pictures).
image
When I opened the box and seen the inside of the book, I was instantly hooked. I couldn’t stop flipping through the pages. These designs are absolutely BRILLIANT and beautiful.
image
There are so many different varieties of styles that there is something for everyone! It does take a little practice to make it perfect, but so does everything else. That is what makes it so perfect for beginners.
For someone who is always on the lookout for new ways to paint my nails, the book was perfect. It has a ton of pictures and very simply tells in detail which steps to take to get that look!

It explains in detail the tools and techniques of nail art (i.e. the dotting tool, nail art brushes, nail decals, acrylic paint…) I loved knowing that you can use Acrylic paint to do nails! I had no idea. It is so much more convenient and less expensive (because they come in big bottles) then having to buy a ton of different color nail polishes. (Acrylic paint can be mixed together to create an even bigger variety of color!) How cool.
image
Of course you don’t have to follow the color code in the book! You can always create the “background” color any color you want to mix it up even more! This even taught me how to create my OWN nail designs with the techniques it shows!
image
Really amazing book! Whether you’re a beginner or someone who wants to explore more nail designs, this book is for YOU!
